A Unique Child
At Tiny Tots Nursery we recognise that every child is a competent learner who can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured. We recognise that children develop in individual ways, at varying rates. Children’s attitudes and dispositions to learning are influenced by feedback from others. We use praise and encouragement, as well as celebrating activities, sharing circle time and rewards, to encourage children to develop a positive attitude to learning.
Tiny Tots Nursery recognizes that children learn to be strong and independent from secure and loving relationships. We aim to develop caring, respectful and positive relationships with the children and their families.
We identify that the environment plays a key role in supporting and extending the children’s development. We begin by observing the children and assessing their interests, development and learning, before planning challenging but achievable activities. This extends and simulates the learning experience of children.
English as an Additional Language
Tiny Tots Nursery will accept children whose parents are unable to communicate in English. Our setting recognises their needs and will make every attempt to facilitate their child’s entry into the nursery. We recognise diversity and feel that all languages and cultures should be respected.
Once it is discovered that parents do not communicate in English their needs will be established and we will do all that we can to ensure that the parents/ carers and child are welcomed and settle in with ease.
