Funded Hours

Funded hours only cover the cost of childcare; the basic delivery of early education as well as staffing and core provision. These funded hours do not include meals, non-food, consumables, extra curricular activities, trips. These additional charges are optional and are applied if parents wish to opt for a more inclusive package.

Optional extra charges are charged at £2 per funded hours and include the following: 

·   Charges for Meals: breakfast, morning snack, lunch and tea. This cost includes the food as well as the cost incurred to prepare freshly cooked daily meals by our chef.

·   Non-food consumables charges including nappies and wipes but not limited to this

·   Extra Curricular Activities including Music, Sports and Ballet

·   Trips and outings

Our additional charges are calculated at £2 per funded hours equating to £30 per week for the 15 hours and £60 per week for the 30 hours. This is charged for 38 weeks. 

Please see an illustration below for a child under 2 years of age attending 5 days a week and entitled to receive the 30 hours a week: 

The hourly rate for 5 days a week is £8.80 per hour (£1995x12/52/52.5 hours)

Weekly hours are 52.5 hours (10.5 hours x 5 days)

Weekly funded hours are 30 hours 

Weekly unfunded hours are 22.5 hours

Cost for weekly unfunded hours is 22.5 hours x £8.80 = £198 per week

Optional extras for the funded hours per week = £60 

Total weekly cost = £258 per week (£60+£198)

This rate applies for 38 weeks

£258 x 38 weeks = £9804

Weekly cost for the remaining 14 weeks where no funding is being applied is £460  per week (£1995x12/52)

14 x £460 = £6440

Total annual cost is £9804 + £6440 = £16244

Total monthly cost rounded off to the nearest £5= £1355 (£16244 /12)
